The Gualala Community Center Pay ’N’ Take Clothing store and parking lot are scheduled for a make-over during the month of August. This week, GCC Board President, Janet Pierucci, received notice from the owner, Tamal Properties, that the building would be painted, the parking area resurfaced, and outdoor seating installed. We are looking forward to these improvements. Work is expected to begin on July 29th and be completed by the end of August.
The store will continue to be open for sales every Saturday from 9 to noon and on Tuesdays from 9 to noon, for donations, unless we learn otherwise from the owner. Access may be altered but we will make every effort to accommodate the contractors as well as our shoppers. We look forward to another important step forward for the Gualala Community Center and appreciate everyone who takes part in helping shape GCC’s future.
The Gualala Community Center (GCC) would like to share an update with our community regarding recent legal activity involving the organization.
A complaint was filed by a GCC member related to a past Board election. As part of that action, a request was made to the Mendocino County Superior Court for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) that would have restricted the Board from carrying out certain duties on behalf of GCC. On April 10, 2026, the Court denied the request for a Temporary Restraining Order. The Court determined that the request did not meet the legal standard required for such relief. GCC remains fully operational, and the Board of Directors continues to carry out its responsibilities in service to the organization and the community. As this is an ongoing legal matter, GCC will not be commenting on specific details at this time. We remain committed to transparency and will share updates as appropriate. GCC has consulted with legal counsel and will continue to act in accordance with applicable laws and organizational bylaws. The Board’s focus continues to be on supporting our programs, serving our community, and moving forward with the rebuilding of the Gualala Community Center. We appreciate your continued support and trust. |
